campersAPP is operated by Gere Enterprises LLC d/b/a campersAPP (“campersAPP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect your privacy and want you to understand what information may be collected when you use campersAPP, why we collect it, and how it may be used.
This Privacy Policy applies to the campersAPP mobile application, campersAPP.com, and related campersAPP services.
campersAPP does not sell personal information or precise location information.
Information We Collect
Campground Subscribers
Campgrounds that subscribe to campersAPP may provide business and account information such as the campground name and address, business contact information, account administrators, account details, and communications with campersAPP support.
We use this information to establish and support campground accounts, provide the campersAPP service, communicate with subscribers, and provide location-specific functionality such as weather and mapping.
Campground Guests
Many areas of campersAPP can be used without providing personally identifying information.
Depending on the campground you are visiting and the features you choose to use, we may collect information such as:
- Name, email address, and telephone number
- Campsite, cabin, rental, or site number
- Arrival and departure dates
- Favorites and preferences
- Private group memberships
- Orders and service requests
- Survey, poll, contest, or form responses
- Game and activity participation
- Loyalty, punch card, reward, and redemption activity
- Information submitted through check-in forms, waivers, acknowledgments, registrations, or other campground forms
- Location information when you enable location-based features
We collect this information to provide and support the campersAPP features and services you choose to use.
Location Services
campersAPP is a campground guest service application. Certain features may access, collect, use, and retain your device’s approximate or precise location information when you choose to enable location-based features. Location access is optional and is requested through your device’s permission settings when needed.
Depending on the features you enable and the permissions you grant, location information may be accessed while you are using campersAPP and, if you enable background location, when the app is closed or not actively in use.
The primary reason campersAPP requests location is to support onsite campground safety alerts and location-relevant campground notifications. Precise, property-level location is used to distinguish an onsite guest from someone merely nearby, and background access allows the app to determine that you are actually onsite so participating campgrounds can reach you with safety and operational information even when campersAPP isn’t open.
In addition to onsite safety alerts, location information may be used to:
- Recognize campground visits and determine whether you are onsite at a participating campground.
- Support location-relevant campground notifications, activity reminders, and arrival recognition, including determining whether certain reminders are relevant based on whether you are onsite.
- Provide location-based games and experiences, including Geo Adventures and navigation to designated locations.
- Help you locate campground amenities, activities, attractions, services, and nearby places.
- Support maps, directions, and other location-based campground functionality.
- Verify certain loyalty punches, QR scans, rewards, redemptions, or other location-dependent activities.
- Provide campground promotions, local offers, coupons, and sponsored content that may be relevant to your location. This use is a form of advertising.
Background Location
If you enable background location, campersAPP may access and collect location information when the app is closed or not actively in use.
The primary background-location use is onsite campground safety alerts: safety, weather, or emergency information may need to reach you while the app is not open, and background location allows the app to determine that you are actually onsite so participating campgrounds can pass that context with time-sensitive notices.
Background location may also be used to determine whether you are onsite at a participating campground for other enabled location-based services, including campground notifications, activity reminders, campground arrival or visit recognition, and other enabled location-based experiences.
Background location may also be used to determine whether an optional campground promotion, local offer, coupon, or sponsored offer is relevant to your location.
Location-Based Promotions and Sponsored Content
Location-based promotions and sponsored content are a form of advertising. Participating campgrounds or local businesses may designate a geographic area in which a promotion, coupon, or sponsored offer may be made available to guests who have enabled applicable location-based features.
campersAPP may use your location to determine whether you are within the geographic area associated with an offer. Your precise location is not provided to the sponsoring business merely because you enter that geographic area, receive a notification, or view an offer.
Participating businesses do not receive your precise location for the purpose of determining whether an offer should be displayed or delivered.
If you voluntarily redeem an offer, enter a redemption code, make a purchase, request a service, participate in a reward program, or otherwise initiate a transaction or interaction with a participating campground or business, information reasonably necessary to complete, verify, or maintain a record of that interaction may be provided to the participating campground or business.
campersAPP does not sell personal information or precise location information to advertisers or sponsors.
Location Data Retention
campersAPP may log and retain location information and related location-based activity associated with the features you choose to use.
Location information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and support the applicable location-based service, determine whether location-relevant notifications or experiences are appropriate, verify activities or transactions, maintain appropriate business or transaction records, measure and improve feature performance, prevent fraud or misuse, maintain security, support participating campgrounds, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
When location information is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, it may be deleted, anonymized, or aggregated in accordance with the Data Retention and Deletion section of this Privacy Policy.
Your Location Choices
You control whether campersAPP has access to your device’s location. You may grant, limit, or disable location permissions through your device settings.
You may also enable or disable optional location-based offers where those controls are provided within campersAPP.
Disabling location access will not prevent you from using portions of campersAPP that do not require location, but certain location-based features, notifications, games, navigation tools, rewards, or other experiences may not function properly or may be unavailable when location access is disabled.
Camera and Photo Access
Some campersAPP features may request access to your device’s camera or photo library for purposes such as scanning QR codes, collecting loyalty punches or rewards, participating in games or activities, reporting an issue, or participating in photo contests or challenges.
Photos or other content you intentionally submit may be provided to the participating campground when necessary to provide the feature or experience you selected. When you participate in a Photo Challenge or other feature that includes a content-use permission, submitted photos may also be used by the participating campground for marketing or promotional purposes as described in the notice presented to you before you participate.
Check-In Forms and Waivers
Some campgrounds use campersAPP for digital check-in forms, waivers, acknowledgments, registrations, or other guest documents. Information you submit, including contact or reservation information and electronic signatures, may be used to create and store completed documents on behalf of the campground and make them available to authorized campground staff through the campersAPP management portal.
These records may be retained by the campground for operational, legal, safety, insurance, or recordkeeping purposes and may remain part of the campground’s records even if you later delete your campersAPP account.
Payments
Some participating campgrounds allow guests to purchase goods or services through campersAPP.
Payments made through the campersAPP payment system are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor.
When you enter payment card information, the full card number and other sensitive card credentials are handled by Stripe. campersAPP does not store your full credit or debit card number, and participating campgrounds do not receive or store your full card number through campersAPP.
Instead, campersAPP may store a secure payment token or transaction reference that allows an authorized transaction to be associated with the appropriate payment method without storing the actual card number.
campersAPP may also retain limited transaction information, such as the amount, items or services purchased, payment status, transaction reference, date of purchase, and information necessary for receipts, refunds, or transaction history.
Payment card information processed by Stripe is handled under Stripe’s security practices and privacy policies. Stripe’s Privacy Policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
If a campground uses a payment system outside of campersAPP, that transaction may be subject to the policies and practices of the campground or payment provider involved.
Device, Usage, and Technical Information
When you use campersAPP, we may automatically receive limited technical and usage information such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, app or device identifiers, push notification information, crash and diagnostic information, and information about the features you use.
We use this information to operate and improve campersAPP, troubleshoot technical problems, provide appropriate analytics to participating campgrounds, maintain security, and understand overall usage and performance.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage and trends.
Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, campersAPP may send information relating to your campground experience, including activity reminders, campground announcements, operational or safety information, private group information, loyalty or reward updates, promotions, and location-based or sponsored offers you have chosen to receive.
Promotional or sponsored push notifications will only be sent when you have chosen to receive them.
You may manage notifications through campersAPP or through your mobile device settings.
How We Use Information
We use information collected through campersAPP to operate and provide the service; create and maintain accounts; provide campground information and guest services; remember preferences; provide maps and location-based functionality; operate games, Geo Adventures, loyalty programs, and activities; verify rewards and redemptions; provide relevant notifications and offers; generate and maintain guest forms and waivers; facilitate purchases and guest requests; support private campground groups; provide customer and technical support; improve campersAPP; prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse; maintain security; and comply with applicable law.
How Information May Be Disclosed
campersAPP does not sell personal information or precise location information.
Information may be provided to the participating campground when necessary to complete an interaction or service you initiate through campersAPP. This may include check-in forms and waivers, orders and purchases, guest service requests, loyalty or coupon redemptions, contest entries, campground forms, and private group participation.
Information may also be disclosed to:
- Payment processors such as Stripe when completing a payment
- Service providers that perform functions necessary to operate campersAPP
- Government authorities or others when required by law or legal process
- Parties necessary to protect the security, safety, rights, or property of campersAPP, participating campgrounds, users, or others
Service providers that receive personal information on our behalf are required to use that information only as necessary to provide their services and to protect it consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Information may also be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business.
campersAPP does not provide personal information or precise location information to advertisers or sponsors merely because sponsored content is displayed.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide campersAPP services, maintain appropriate business and transaction records, support participating campgrounds, meet legal obligations, prevent fraud or misuse, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, it may be deleted, anonymized, or aggregated, subject to applicable legal and operational requirements.
You may request deletion of personal information associated with your campersAPP account through an account deletion option provided within campersAPP or by contacting:
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
Certain information may need to be retained for legal, security, accounting, transaction, fraud-prevention, or other permitted purposes.
Information already provided to an independently operated campground, including completed waivers, check-in documents, transactions, or other campground records, may be retained by that campground according to its own legal, operational, or recordkeeping requirements.
Your Privacy Choices
You may control location, camera, photo, and notification permissions through campersAPP and your device settings; enable or disable optional location-based offers where controls are provided; choose whether to use optional interactive features; and request correction or deletion of certain personal information.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, portability, or use of personal information.
Children’s Privacy
campersAPP is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without the consent required by applicable law.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances requiring parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Cookies and Website Technologies
campersAPP.com and other web-based campersAPP services may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, understand website usage, improve performance, and provide website functionality. You may control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect some web-based services.
Third-Party Websites and Services
campersAPP may contain links to websites, reservation systems, payment services, restaurants, attractions, merchants, campground websites, or other independently operated services.
When you choose to interact directly with a third-party service, that service may collect information under its own privacy policies and practices. campersAPP is not responsible for the privacy practices of independently operated third-party websites or services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as campersAPP evolves, new features are introduced, or legal requirements change.
When changes are made, we will revise the Last Updated date at the top of this policy. When appropriate, we may also provide additional notice through campersAPP.
